Well, basically i have a Bugera 6260-212 and it isnt a great chugger. Right now i have a Line 6 variax 300, and will probably be upgrading toa Jackson Demmolition king V. This will have some intence EMG's in it, wich should help, but will it make it more of a chugger? Right now i find it is to tinny, and just doesnt have mutch base. So would i be better off buying some sort of pedal or a small cab (2x12) or possibly a 2x15 wich should fix the probblem, its just verry expensive. So what should i do? new guitar? new pedal? or new cab? keep in mind that this is a tube amp
Thanks

I think it's your Variax that's causing you problems, not the Bugera.

That thing should be owning your face, it's a chugger if there ever was one.

Get a different guitar and an OD pedal. I have the same amp and it definitely does the chug-chug stuff well

You are a moron if you think upgrading to a better guitar is going to change your sound for the better. Tone is 70% amp.

And majority of the rest is the Pickups. He's switching to EMG's.

In this case, yes it will make a world of difference. The 6260 is perfect for chug-chug br00talz. The Variax is far from the perfect guitar for that though, and so getting something else will do him well. Tone may be largely from the amp, but the guitar feeding that amp does make a legitimate difference too.

The jackson will fix the problem trust me.
If a 5150 clone wont get you TEH CHUGUMZ practicly nothing will.
#12
Yeah, I think the guitar will fix the problem. Other things that could be useful are EQ pedal in the loop and OD up front (used as a clean boost).

Try a few of these settings.
For Lead guitar type tone...
Bass- 8.5
Mids- 6
Treb- 7
Pres- 2 or 3
Mess around with the resonance to your liking.
I prefer it around 8.
For Rythymn guitar type tone...
Bass- 8.5
Mids- 7.5
Treb- 4
Pres- 2ish
Mess around with the resonance to your liking.
I prefer it around 7.
Gain and volume is all up to you.

If your on a budget, get a danelectro fish n chips. fantastic for the price.

EMG's ruin sound, they just rape your tone with their own overpowering output and crappyness.

But srsly, get a better guitar, Bugeras aren't good but they aren't bad either, that Variax sucks giant tits though.

Say WHAT?!?!

Um, no...

I disagree.

i for one dont care for the sound of EMGs, but they do NOT ruin the sound of amps, or would it make a Bugera sound like crap.haha.

i think they have a bit more clariety then reg passive humbuckers, but i like the good old Dimarzio pickups my self
