it's not the wattage that matters. You can play through pretty much any head with a cab rated at 280W. The V30s are more mid-heavy, while the G12T75s have more of a scooped sound to them. They work well with Marshall heads, because Marshalls tend to have a lot of mids, but I wouldn't use them with, say, a recto. It all depends on what you want. The G12T75s work really nicely for cleans though.
