Hi guys, I started to restring my guitar today and somehow managed to break the machine head for my B string, dont know how I did it. Now when I turn it, it either does nothing, or tightens the string up for a while then kind of "loses grip" and the whole string goes very loose again.

Can I replace this easily or is it more trouble than its worth and should I just buy a new cheapo temporary guitar? ( it was a no-name out of a starter pack anyway).

sounds like the gear is knackered id say your going to have to buy a new tuner

it should be quite easy to replace the machine head. If you buy a new guitar get a better one as this often happens on cheap guitars

Just buy a new set of tuners. Affordable and good tuners are Wilkinson locking tuners. you can pick them up for around £10-£20 on ebay, maybe less in the USA.

You can replace the tuners (just replace them all, if one breaks the others can too) or just get a new guitar. Just don't get one as cheap as your last guitar.
