I was just thinking about this. I wonder how that would sound.

Does such a thing exist? And if not, how does one create it?

I haven't the foggiest, but I say BLASPHEMY! (I am curious about it though)

Cephalic Carnage is kinda like progressive grindcore, and BTBAM and Protest the hero are considered prog. metalcore (Though I think they have a bit more of a muse-ish, alt.rock ish influence than hardcore).
#6
Ehhhh i think this would be Protest The Hero

All Is Suffering
Hellbastard
Hellkrusher
Hellshock
Axegrinder
Iskra
Birdflesh
Driller Killer
Guided Cradle
Resistant Culture
SDS
Shitstorm
Warfair?

This stuff should suit you. Most of it is more on the side of punk or grind, but its all technical and very heavily metal influenced.

Lol at people who don't know what they're talking about.

So this isn't spam, pretty much look for some technical grindcore or any other genre where punk mixes with metal. I don't know a lot about grindcore, metal, or technical music though, so I can't really help you much here.
I'm the same as I was when I was six years old
And oh my god I feel so damn old
I don't really feel anything

There's lots of metal/punk crossover genres. Look for any crust punk, skate punk, grindcore, metalcore, thrash/crossover thrash/thrash metal bands described as progressive or technical.
No gods, no countries, no masters.
More guitar, less Ultimate-Guitar.

The point of underground bands is their not popular or famous most of the time. Thus there is a good chance they suck.

hardcore punk has no influence from metal at all. :S

Very true. At least at first it didn't. Even by the end of the first wave metal influences were creeping into hardcore, in all sorts of different ways too.

Bah! Punk can't be technical, but it could be progressive.

Punk doesn't have to be simple and sloppy, listen to Dead Kennedys or Propagandhi...

Wow, horrible waste of a thread.

You're asking for technical thrash by the way.

Dream Theater count on their heavier numbers, Heathen, Coroner, and Artillery count as the progressive bit and maybe on the tech bit.
