tuners, and the nut may be parts of the problem. Lubricate the nut (lol) with graphite, or maybe the bridge saddles.

And locking tuners are a godsend.

What type of guitar do you have?

EDIT: Oh, Epi LP xD Refer to my previous statement.

What gauge strings do you use? I have a epi lp custom with power slinkies on it and in almost never goes out of tune. Except for the G string. Annoys the hell out of me. Maybe you should stretch your strings out. Go up a note or two really quick with the tuners. I go 1 full step up everytime i change my slinkies.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

1. Your guitar is shitty
2. Your strings are shitty
3. Your intonation is shitty
4. Your tuners are shitty
5. There is no 5
6. No poofters

It's one of those.

My Epi G-400 stays in tune for days. I can never get the low E to be perfectly in tune though.

No, you shouldn't, it's dead easy, especially with a tune-o-matic. There's plenty of lessons on how to do it online, and it is a basic guitar maintenance thing, I'd just learn how to do it.
