I really like the beginning of Marty Friedman's first solo in "Holy Wars" (Megadeth). It's just so melodic.

Also the beginning of Kirk Hammet's solo in "Leper Messiah." Kinda simplistic sweeps, and done pretty sloppily, but still good.

I disagree, a lot of pages stuff was simple and pretty sloppy, but it was all gold.

Michael Romeo's sweeps in Sea of Lies were awesome, also with Of Sins and Shadows.

Does Joe Satriani sweep? Can't recall at the moment.

Not very often at all but I believe there are some in Crushing Day at least...I think it's crushing day anyway.

Well, there's a lot of great music out there that is sloppy and simplistic. It's definitely not an oxymoron. Not everything has to be technical.

Hammet uses some typical/common 3-string sweep-picked arpeggios in the solo. But they're used in a very exciting way. I think it's his best solo.

Mea Culpa- The Human Abstract
Selkies- BTBAM, an obvious one
Fermented Offal Discharge- Necrophagist another obvious one.
Serena- Jason Becker

I don't know if this counts, as there is only a tiny bit of sweeping, but "Demons" by Darkest Hour has an awesome solo.

There are no sweeps in Sea of Lies. There are a couple of very short sections in solo's 1 and 2 that could be swept if you wanted to, but Romeo plays them with string skipping. That song is a complete bastard to play by the way - I've been working on it for over 2 months and I'm still a fair ways off from being happy with it.
