loura.

in a park near the dead, where we
should digress but instead
we take a nap in the grass,
half way quiet but not quite there,
holding close in some shade trying
to determine the difference between
some kind of cuddle, and the intimacy
we share with a spoon. In my head
I couldn't say the words that I meant,
a woman callin' cold quickly, wet or not
at all, but we hope things will get warmer
in the winter.

awfully slow, such a word I can't remember.
begins with an "s" and ends with an "o."
pick up her hands and tell her to leave,
try hard not to rhyme because it
ruins the moment, and after thinking
that she asked if I'd see, "Atonement."

moving into the trouble of times pass(e)
or not at all for baby food (pureed in her
stomach she'll always grow, forget the time,
well...you know. But we don't have to think
about how we are, time to wonder where
we've taken our time, sinking into quasi-dreams,
into more literate words, or fifty years of slurring
speech to match each other's concussions. Sharing
pains,
sharing grass stains, and dna strains,
soon I'll know what it takes today,
who I'm going to blame when I talk
too
quick, but everyone's looking at me
and her in the bed of the park;
I should write something deep
and interesting, about something odd and obscure
in which I'm Clark Kent and she's Brainiac,
but I won't, or I don't have a choice, instead
I'll look down at the top of her head,
pretend it's yours, call her your name
(not outloud) and give her your gifts.
and so and so, so, so, so so, so so,
so so so so,
so so so, so so so, so so so, so,
so so so, so and so. and on
a happier note,
what.

I'm going to make a word doc of your postings here, as far as they go back, and spend an afternoon in my dorm-room reading.

love the piece though. inspirational.

hmm I both loved parts of this and didnt feel so strongly about others, it's an interesting read.

awfully slow, such a word I can't remember.
begins with an "s" and ends with an "o."
pick up her hands and tell her to leave,
try hard not to rhyme because it

that she asked if I'd see, "Atonement."

I love all of this except for the last line, it just niggles me and I'm not sure why.
“I smoke. If this bothers anyone, I suggest you look around at the world in which we live and shut your f*ckin' mouth.” RIP

This was probably the first thing I've read on here in quite some time that I thought was worth commenting on. I like.

Just wonderful. I don't have anything bad to say about it. The train of thought, the development of the poem and just everything in general was exquisite. Really a great read. Congratulations.
