I've been thinking about getting a Mesa/Boogie Dual Recto Solo head(linky), but a friend recently told me to save up a little more and get a Dual Recto Roadster(linky) because "it sounds the same as the Solo head, but it has more versatility. Not to mention the 4 channels."

Now, the 4 channels have basically sold me on this amp. But i'm wondering, does it really sound just like the Solo head?

Thanks.

Since it does have 4 channels, you can't say it sounds like the Solo head, but you can dial in a tone identical to it pretty easily. Along with a vast array of different sounds as well. Save for it. I Roadsters.

I know it won't sound EXACTLY like the solo, but i mean, it's still a Dual Recto, it can't be too off.

And i mean... FOUR CHANNELS!!

I've always wanted a tube amp with more than two channels, but the only one i knew of was the TSL, and if i ever get a marshall, i'm getting either a DSL50 or some used JCM800.

Thanks for helping!

Any other opinions?

I'm still trying to debate whether it's worth the extra few hundred dollars.

It will sound better than the solo.

Is it worth that extra money?
I'm assuming yes...
