so you have up to $600 for a Head? Do you already have a Speaker Cabinet or is that a seperate budget item? In other words, you may get more bang for your buck with a Combo.

what is your closest major city btw?

welcome to GGnA!

This this this all the way

Go with a used 5150 head you wont regret it

Since you said you live near new orleans, i took the liberty of finding this.

It has plenty of gain, but I would recommend an OD with that to tighten up the gain.

I would offer him $600 for the head.

You're probably checking ebay.... all the competition drives up the price, however, erock got a 5150 block letter head for $400 the other week on ebay.

Craigslist tends to have much more low priced amps than ebay, less views and competition for it; however, there will be some highballers on there who think a 5150 head is worth $1,200...

There are quite a few 5150 stacks in the SWVA craigslist for about $700-$800.
