I'm a guitar newbie and recently got a Epi LP Custom as a gift. I picked up a Mogami Gold cable and now I'm looking to get the amp.
I don't need to shake the foundation of the house or a "small gig" amp. Just something to kickback and enjoy. I've narrowed down my search to the Roland30X and the Vox AD30VT. Both these seem to have everything I would need for my purposes. I'm kind of leaning towards the Roland as it comes with a tuner built in. Is there a big difference that I should go with the Vox and buy a separate tuner or are both these amps fairly close to one another and it's really a pick'em and I'll be happy with either?

what styles do you play? for metal and most rock, I would reccomend the Cube, for something softer, the Vox is your choice

How much money do you have to spend?

I'll cut you a good deal on a Vox AD50VT if you're interested.

Also: I personally think the Vox rapes the cube.

Also: It would be worth it to try out a Vypyr as well.

+1. Try out a Vypyr or a Valveking.
