Hi guys,
On my tube combo Engl Sovereign 100w on low volume I can get a kickass sound, settings as follows

Gain: 4
Bass: 6.5
Mid: 4.5
Treble: 6
Pres: 5

To really get that metalcore sound.
But when I crank my tubes the treble seems to overwhelm my whole sound. But when I turn it down to 4/4.5 and push my mid abit up, the sound loses it's bite.

Any help or tips?

Thanks,
Roy

Turn down the treble and turn up the presence to compensate with that "bite". Treble at 4-5 like you said and presence to 6-7.

Yeah, exactly the same with mine and also what DaveMc says, i think

I have my Treble on 4-5 and no more and Presence no more than 5 (even at low volume on mine)

But when the volume heads to 1/3 or more - wow, its just so bright!

i'm not sure how bright mine gets at higher volume, any time mine's up that high i'm wearing earplugs, which don't have flat attenuation, they cut more treble than anything else, as far as i'm aware...
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
