Umm. Im looking for a high standard guitar for playing metal, and will be good in Drop C tuning or even Drop D.

Currently have a Squire Strat =/

Looking for a decent one, for under £200, is that possible?

Any suggestions on a particular brand/model?

Washburn X series.
I've heard the X30 and X50 Pro models are pretty good.

Heh, its not bad actually, it's decent enough seems i bought it for £60 and like i said, i'm on a budget. It works brilliantly, and compared to the piece of shit amp i used to have, Which i dont think it even had a name lmao, its nice.

Yeah, I just know you're gonna get slammed for the choice. You probably could have gotten a similarly priced cloner that doesn't sound like digi-poo, though.

Ahh well, not too worried about the amp, the guitar is my main focus tbh.

Well, you get a lot of your "sound" from the amp and effects you choose. The rest from your guitar and your own fingers, but a quality amp can really do wonders for your tone. Of course, if you play like me, tone isn't an issue, but still.

This one has everything you need for Metal and is well under £200 so has to represent excellent value.

Pretty much an Dean X series.
Dean Z-X(which I own and proud of it!), Dean V-X, and Dean MLX. I have played on all of these guitars and they work great. You can get them down to drop C, but expect some rattle.
