I have just bought an ibanez s520ex, and it is my pride and joy. It is equipped with the stock *infinity* pickups, which do a decent job.

After a day of playing, my plectrum has scratched the surface of the neck humbucker...
I am not sure how the humbuckers work and so i do not know if this will have any effect on the sound quality?

It seems unavoidable... can anyone give me some enlightenment!?
nope! its just a scratch and nothing more, it'll be fine!

Yep, nothing to worry about at all. If your guitar catches fire, then you gots problems. <.<
brilliant thanks! just curious, is the outer shell of the humbucker for protection only?

i've just looked at it under the light and i can see hundreds of tiny scratches!
