I currently have a Fender Standard Stratocaster, and whilst it is a great guitar, it is completely the opposite of my playing genres. When i bought it (heavily influenced bym my first teacher), i was into Blues and Surf Rock, but now ive reversed tastes and am into Hard Rock and Metal. What would be better: change the neck and bridge PU to make it more 'rock' or to just get a new guitar (Ibanez RG321 or Agile Dauntless SBD)??

thanks

if u want metal ur best off with getting a new guitar with some hotter pups then u should be able to cover most genres easily

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
