Hey everyone, I'm a bass player (still in the art of getting better but it's what I started off with) and I'm not a very good guitar player at all, which is why I've been wanting to become better at it. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good site or good videos to learn more. So far I only know some basic chords, and my strumming really needs work. Anything that can lead me in the right direction or any tips would be great. Thanks a lot!
Listen to The Beatles, Pink Floyd, or whatever you want to listen to.

If Cyberfret.com is still up, they have/had some great lessons. UG has good lessons, too.

basically the longer you play guitar and the more you challenge yourself (don't set the bar too high though) the better you'll get.
at this stage you should be learning your open chords and maybe a couple bar chord shapes. Work on smooth transitions from one chord to another

I've been playing for a month. I have learned the most from the following:

BOOK:
Guitar for Dummies ($25)

FREE ONLINE LESSONS:
Online guitar lessons http://www.morphis.com/guitar_lessons/

YOUTUBE:
Aaron http://www.youtube.com/user/gally042 (over 170 lessons)
Alfalfasprout http://www.youtube.com/user/alfalfasprout69 (Good solo lessons)

OTHERS:
Farhatguitar http://www.farhatguitar.com/ (You can slow down videos)

Use the internet to your advantage. Type in whatever you have a question about and you'll get an answer (i.e. "how to strum", "how to play D chord", etc) - i like youtube because you can see a video on whatever you're asking about.

Hope this helps.
