i wanna get a pedal for when i do solos, specifically for gigs at college where i use the marshall amps, but i want to get something to define my solo sound

i wont use it so much on my amp at home so dont ask.

the basic solo tone is kinda like this

Neck pickup + mild distortion.
Gives the nice warm solo sound. Add reverb and make the fans cream their pants.

are you looking for a pedal to boost the amp or what?
periphery/bulb!

Ibanez RG7321 w/ D-sonic in bridge

Peavey 5150 mk ii & b52 4x12 cab

line 6 podxt for recording

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.

what marshalls does your college have?
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

i only ask because i know that the avt range takes boost pedals (when run over their overdrive channels) extremely badly, with some pedals, the sound can cut out etc. you'd ideally want to make sure that the college's marshalls are all-tube marshalls to get the best out of a boost pedal. if they aren't all-tube, a distortion pedal over the clean channel may be a better idea.

Exactly.

It would be like walking into AutoZone and saying "I need such and such part... I own a Chevy." and not specifying what model the vehicle is. The part may work, but chances are its not gonna be the right thing and you will just be s.o.l.

if you want your own sound you got to have your own amp. a pedal wont help too much.

Since it's a valvestate, I say get a tube based gain pedal. Like a Chandler Tube Driver or something similiar.

You should probably mug John Frusciante or Ritchie Blackmore. They're small guys, we could take 'em.

Just look out for that other guy in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Will Farrel. He's a tall mofo, got a long reach.

If it's a Valvestate amp then try a Seymour Duncan Metal Mayhem pedal, which is fantastic.
Gibson Les Paul Studio with Catswhiskers pickups
PRS SE 'Floyd' Custom 24 with Creamery pickups
Fender Standard Stratocaster with DiMarzio pickups
Takamine GN30
BluGuitar AMP1

i haven't tried the older ones. i'd definitely try to get to try the pedal with the amp, as if the older one reacts the way the newer ones do, it'll be no fun.
