It's made by Fender, EVH is a sub-division of the company I guess you could say.

Great amp, I was going to buy one but decided on a Splawn Nitro instead.

EVH is it's own company owned by Eddie obviously. Fender just makes the amp and it's rebranded EVH. I don't think EVH is a subsidiary of Fender.

the 6505 combo is 60W, not 120W.

It doesn't sound THAT good TBH. It seemed pretty overpriced to me when I tried it. It was with a shitty Epi LP Goth though...

I'm thinking that's because Fender (overpriced) is selling them to EVH (think greed here) and they are marked up again and sold to the public. Instead of getting a "commission" as he did with Peavey - or just a naming rights deal, he is getting the profit from the EVH label. Just a thought.

it takes 8 preamp tubes, 4 power amp tubes, has three channels all with separate eq's. im guessing the effects loop is tube driven and im seeing them for about $1600 used on ebay. that sounds like a friken great deal compared to other amps

Maybe in the US, but in the UK you can get a high-end Cornford for the same price which sounds infinitely better.

And the number of tubes has no bearing on sound, or the Fucking Fucker would be the best amp ever made.

well im from aus so the amp would cost about... $10000, no joke. infact i dont even think they would bother selling them over here

Exactly.

I just realised, you can get a Splawn for the same price as one in the US, it doesn't look like such a good deal now.

Ain't that the truth, the actual fender plant runs on 34 6L6's and 122 12at7's, lol. Fender, "when in doubt, shove a tube in there."

Hey we're just joking around, we didn't mean to offend you. And you are absolutely right, they are good amps, very good amps. Well priced? At $5,000? Idk.

No they aren't, they're both high-gain Marshall sounds

EDIT: Haha, I just realised you had an EVH

i wasnt really praising. just stating that it must be a good amp. i thats all i hear about it. and generally the more tubes, the more expensive. i was just trying to say that they are relatively well priced... whether i was right or wrong

well priced or expensive

i'm not sure why EVH and Fender don't make a more affordable combo - you'd think they would sell the snot out of them.

the head is $2000 and one cab is $1000 (at least i think that is the GC price). Some day I'll look for a used head and a diff cab as someone on these boards (might have been Matrix) said that the cabs/speakers are not a good value/combination...or something.

$3K? Why did I think they were $5K? Sorry, I took a short bus this morning.

if that was true the ~600 watt tube crate amp would be the best it has around 30some tubes
Gear:
2000 Paul Reed Smith CE-24
ESP EC-1000 w/ Seymour Duncans
Ceriatone 18 Watt TMB Plexi 1x12
Peavey 5150 2x12 Combo

you were probably thinking List price or Full stack or something. I just noticed it is cheaper at GC anyway to buy the head and cab seperate. You would think you would get deal if you bought a stack all at once.

Sometimes I just wonder.
