Dear Grammar Nazis,

I have a question about the word "noon." Is it acceptable to say "tomorrow noon," as in "I will go to the store tomorrow noon?" Is this an error, or is it simply a viable phrase that is rarely used?

EDIT: The person is not referring to "afternoon," she is referring to "noon." Also I am aware it is more common to say "tomorrow at noon," but I'm wondering if the phrase in question is an error, or uncommon but correct.

I'm no grammar nazi, but to me it would sound better as "tomorrow at noon"

like "I will go to the store tomorrow at noon"

I think it might be "I will go to the store at noon tomorrow"

like that. Maybe?

Afternoon and Morning are sections of the day, but noon is a specific time. Would you say "tomorrow 1:00" or something of the sort in its place? I think not.
#8
Either "tomorrow at" or "at noon tomorrow"

I feel like I spelt that word wrong...

i dont understand this american thing eg

two thousand eight

where the FLUCK is the AND!?!

well, in math, if you say "and" it means a decimal

like, 2.8 reads out as two and eight tenths

2008 would read out as two thousand eight

...I think this is right...

Oh. I think yours actually might be right. Because if you say "Tomorrow noon" you could just be shortening afternoon. Where as if you say "tomorrow at noon" you'd be saying "tomorrow at 12 o clock.

Is this a different method than what's taught at American schools? My english teacher just today said that what you did is wrong. Maybe I'm just retarded...

Perhaps. That's how everyone I've ever heard say it says it.
"We'll be doing this noon, tomorrow."
The show is at noon, tomorrow."
Etc.

I don't know, what do you want me to say? Its not physically written somewhere in stone, its just a general rule. like rounding up if its 5 or more. the rule isn't written in stone somewhere, its just common knowledge.
