it is the coolest chord i've ever heard, and so simple! Especially when you ring the chord out then hammer on to the 3rd fret of 5th string

Wouldn't Aadd11 be more like

e 0
B 2
G 1
D 0
A 0
E x

?

Not sure, but don't think its any of the above. If you leave out the 5th string its an A-D.

its an Aadd11

This.

A major is A C# E; that chord has an added D which is an 11th.

Yeah, it's kind of more Aadd4, because the 11th really should be an octave higher, it's all really the same though. Aadd11 is a more common chord to find though.
