Is there some kind if line selector or something, I dunno. Say I want to turn 4 pedals on or off at once with 1 step on some kind of switch. Is this possible?

If you were using an effects processor with midi switching - Yes

If you were using a bradshaw switching system - Yes

Single pedals? Get to ****ing dancing.

get a ruler, or piece of wood, and put it over the pedal switches you need, then press, and they all turn on

Greg what did you send me??

The thing with the piece of plank is, you'd better step in the middle, and you'd better want all four effects every time you want one of them or the board will fall off.

My guess is you'd use an A/B splitter that doesn't actually send the signal to separate amps or rigs, but just splits the signal between a straight line path & an effects path. Your cable will go from your guitar to the A/B box. One cable out from the A/B box will go straight to a 2 in/1 out Y connector that goes to your amp, the other cable out from the A/B box will go to your effects, then into the 2nd input on the Y connector.
This way, you can switch everything on/off w/ the A/B box, or leave the effects side switched on with the A/B box, & turn individual effects on/off if you want. All you need is the box, a Y connector, & a couple extra cables.

Edit: I type too slow. noobguy beat me to it above.

Hmm ok. Can you link me to some of this stuff? I know what an AB box is but not sure what the Y connecter thing is?

My problem comes when I'm trying to switch off a DL-4, CE-5 and RV-3 while also switching on an MT-2 and 10 band EQ simultaneously! Hah, I use too many effects.

Midi controller!
the Voodoo Labs Ground Control and the Rocktron All Access are two common ones. They are expensive, but are totally worth it in the end
Now officially has too much gear to list

PM me if you want to know about my recording setup

You said it in your original post, LS-2 Line Selector, or some other looper with at least 2 send-return paths. You then put one group of pedals in the first signal loop, and the other group of pedals in the second signal loop, and leave all of them on all the time, and then just switch between the two with the push of a button. In other words, pick one:

I can't believe nobody else in this thread knows what an effects loop pedal is.

So I basically put the delays reverb and chorus in the send and then back to the return? And the distortion and EQ after the pedal?

Any chance you could write a little > diagram of how it would go?

Sorry for the hassle like. Cheers though

Guitar > Dist./OD > EQ > Loop box (Delay, 'verb, chorus) > amp.

or:

Guitar > Dist./OD > Loop box (Delay, 'verb, chorus) > EQ > amp.
#13
I don't understand how this would work. The EQ only goes on when the distortion is on, the delay, reverb and chorus are very very rarely used with distortion.

It still looks like I'm having to press 3 pedals at once?

Actually, Mitchell, I think he wanted the dist and EQ to turn off when he turns on the rev, delay, and chorus.

So:

Guitar>Loop Box>Amp

In the Loop Box:
Send A>MT-2>EQ>Return A
Send B>RV>CE>DL>Return B

Right I've got it mate. Cheers for the help!

EDIT: By the way, could the LS-2 also be used as an ABY box between 2 different amps? Would be a great added bonus.

you cant,
the LS-2 has 'Send' and 'Return' 1, Send and Return 2, and Output,
unless you were to plug an amp head into (eg.) loop 1, which would
be kind of confusing.
