Ok, well my minds made up, I had a little fiddle on one and dear god it was good. I got that rush you get when you find the right guitar, or perfect cashew.

im just wondering, anyone seen cool commercially available customs?

the G-400 custom is just the model name, such as with a Studio, standard, classic ect...
it's not a "custom" made guitar.

^what he said. i'd go for a thinline tele or a tele custom if you want the 'buckers. the thinline has a more les paul-ish tone than a tele, with the great feel of a telecaster.
