My very first guitar was this: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ibanez-RG7321-7String-Electric-Guitar?sku=518876

For a project, I want to paint it a teal/ turquoise color, new pickups, new knobs, pickguard, and anything else that strikes my fancy.

If I were to get a pre-wired pickguard such as this:
http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/EMG-EMGGC21-SA-Prewired-Pickguard-Set?sku=300274
a) would it fit
b) would it be a rip-off
c) if the answer to B is yes, what pickups and pickguard would you recommend (that would fit)

I'm sorry for my ignorance on the subject, but the most I've done to a guitar is put new strings on my IbanezRG370DX (floating trem).

Thanks!

BTW, I play mainly rock, hard rock...a little metal. I really like the A7X sound.

a) it will probably fit, but you will have to drill new holes for the screws since the design is not the same.
b) Price is ok
c) I think you would be better off with hss pickguard though

dont touch it!

buy a pedal or workstation like the gnx 1 gnx2, gnx3, etc

this way you can use it on any guitar without taking anything apart.

Yeah I could, but I'm doing this for my senior project...and I'm doing scientific stuff with the pickups and the frequencies. I was going to buy a really messed up guitar, but I figured I'd just do it on my old guitar.
