can u replace a humbucker in an lp jr with a p90? if so is there anything different u would do than if u were swapping humbuckers?

You can directly replace it with a P-94-style pickup, which is a humbucker-sized P90 pickup. Otherwise, you would have to route and shim a bit, which is too much of a problem to me.

P-94 is the term Gibson uses for it's humbucker sized p-90s, other companies like Seymour Duncan just call them 'humbucker sized p-90s'.
