i was wanting a guitar for hardcore, but i only have an epiphone dot
soo should I get emgs for the dot or just go buy an LTD ec-100qm for the same price as the emgs ?
and i know that ltd doesn't have emgs and isnt too great of a guitar but id just use it for hardcore

and what about those SD rails that are like 3 PUPs in 1?
would those work for hardcore in the dot ?

ISN'T THAT A SEMI-HOLLOWBODY?? Have you lost your mind? Emg's in a dot. Makes no since to me.

Save up for a 400 series ltd, they have emg's and are really good for the money. You could probably find one used for a really good price.

600. Another great guitar would be Michael Kelly's, great guitar for the price.

They have rockfield fat ass pups instead of emg's. There still really high output so they will do metal and hardcore great.

+1 on the budget, and you're looking for a les paul style body?

ESP's got those, I think they're the Eclipses.....oh, and you DO know that basically any guitar will sound the same as another guitar if they both have EMGs, right?

And DONT put EMG's in your dot......please.

Washburn X40Pro
Washburn X50
Washburn HM24

I have an EC100QM with Seymour Duncans (SH-4 JB & SH-2n Jazz) in it and it sounds great. I use it for hard rock and metal. It's not made of the best tone wood out there so for blues and other types of music it might not be the best to use but it does metal great. The stock pickups do metal fairly well. For the money ($239) the EC100QM is a pretty good guitar. If you buy one you could put EMG's in it later.

ya every guitar will sound the same EMGs as someone else said, so think about it before you decide you want them.
and your not going to get a guitar with active EMGs for $350 so your going to have to raise your budget to like $600, unless you want passive EMGs, which im pretty sure you dont.
and if you put EMGs in your dot, its going to sound like freaking sh!t

Epiphone Les Paul Customs with EMGs are pretty common these days as far as cheaper guitars go.
They're great guitars to play, and they look sexy, too.
But the LTD 400 series isn't too bad for the price, and I think they have Les Paul copies in that line, so that'd be worth a look.

Oh, and -3453 for the "EMGs in the Dot" idea. Hollow body plus EMGs would be a bad idea.
