I'm tuning it to Drop C and the trem is really high and isn't keeping tune. Do I need to take a spring out the back cavity? String gauge is 10-52.

Have you tried loosening the screws at the back? Have you stretched the strings?

EDIT: Whoops! I meant tighten. Silly me. Damn that was a noob mistake haha.

If the trem's high then you need to tighten the spring screws and possibly add more springs
ohai little sig.

I've tightened the springs at the back to attempt to lower the trem. I haven't stretched the springs because I don't use the trem, I just want the action where I want it and for it to keep tune.

Well maybe he doesnt want to shell out the clams for a tremel-no.

Anyway, how many springs are you using?

Bs problem is the tremelo being too HIGH.
He wants its lower so he needs to tighten the strings.
A Tremelo block doesnt fix his problem.

pretty sure you cant tighten strings. and it would if he completely blocked it off so it doesnt move at all. but if he doesnt want to block it off just tighten the springs or add one.
