Whenever I open a video, it only shows all black, but I still get the audio.

Any suggestion for a fix?
(Youtube and everything else works fine, it's only Windows Media Player, if it makes any difference)

not really, even though usually the codecs comes with the player...maybe you'd need a codec update.

buy a DivX-Compatible DVD Player (kinda cheap)

^Beat me to it. Yeah, VLC is pretty much the best player you can get. It'll play just about anything that can be played. I use it along with Winamp/Songbird (alternate everytime I reformat... ) for music. It's not as convenient as just 1 (WMP) player, but 2 awesome players > 1 mediocre player.

Sorry for typing too much It's midnight, and I type a lot at midnight.

Download VLC Media Player.

If this won't play it, nothing will.

Same story with this.
