So I HAVE to learn keyboard and I ever wanted to do it. My parents will buy it but I guess they only want to spend like 300euros ( 400. max)
I think I will look for a used one
I am complete new to the world of keyboards
Since I play DT on guitar , I also would like to do it on a keyboard
So my question is: Which keyboard should I buy?

Get a Roland SH-201

...I didn't expect that. but yeah, if you can't get anything used, this will do the trick.

It's a pretty good value new, as well. (about $600 CAD) Jordan Rudess uses one of these so if you want to sound like dream theater you'd probably be satisfied

Unnnnnnnnnnnnfortunately nothing ATM except this crap Technics synth from the 90s that's not even mine, and an old upright (not in a band at the moment). But I plan on getting an SH-201 soon, and some kind of other synth for organs, EPs, and other sounds (unless the 201 can do that, I haven't tried). Yeah it's lame, but I don't have that much money because i screwed up my damn wrist (which for a keyboardist and a guitarist is absolute torture) so I can't go to work.

DX7: Organs,Harsichord,Clavinet,Rhodes,Wurlitzer,Piano,Bass,Leads,FX.
More complicated sounds. But kinda misses the "Analog" part of the soundscape.
But with tweaks, you can get nearly everything you want.
Mk1 has MIDI but it sux. (S version much better)
and I got mine(S) used for 170$CAN and it came with a MIDI wire and a cartridge.

SH-201: Leads,Pads,Bass,some Organ,FX.
Virtual Analog, but that's about it. Oh yeah: it can work as a soundcard.
Forget any realistic sound with that.
Bought it new.

sorry for your wrist

That's what I gathered from playing with the 201, and I'll look in to the DX7 (Never tried it, but have tried Motifs and the EX7)

I heared about keyboards with 88 keys and more

Not if you're playing Dream Theater, he does mainly lead so his left hand's free to change octaves

Do not get anything with less than 61 keys.
Dear God, do you actually answer prayers?

Yes, but only in a way indistinguishable from random luck or the result of your own efforts.
