Just found a Marshall JCM900 4101 combo for $750 used and I've been looking on youtube and it seems to have a decent tone and I was just wondering if you UGers thought it would be good for metalcore/hardcore and occasionally metal. I'd probably OD with a tubescreamer or maxon or something.

Ok good, and is this a good amp in general though, not just for this kind of music.

The only time I've played a JCM900 was at low volumes and it didn't sound bad at all.

But yes, why do you want a JCM900 if you have a Bugera?

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

I'm looking at other amps since my Bugera just died after an hour of use. Hopefully the shop will give me a refund so I'm looking around for other amp options.
