What do you do? I'm currently suffering from some pretty bad arm pains from too much guitar and have been bored out of my mind for the past couple days....So, what do you do to keep sane?

I don't know man...I think if you go to UG to keep sane....well you might just be doing the opposite

+1, I do this.
Then grow your hair out like an 80's chick, learn chromatics, and voila.

1 - Learn a good lesson: you have your limits so stick to them.

2 - Possibly practice better technique, I've played for upwards of 7 hours a day in the past with no adverse effects.

3 - Get to grips with theory better, learning theory without having a guitar to clarify means you understand it better imho.

4 - Practice drills with the other hand, so if you're fret hand is injured then work on your picking and general rhythm and if your pick hand is injured then work on some entirely legato lines.

5 - Play some video games.

6 - Fap.

Read a book.

Go on UG.

Keep playing!

Or, my personal favourite! Pack a fat bowl into your pipe, light 'er up and fire away. The pain should dissipate. If it doesn't, you can play anyways, and will be too spaced out to realize your arm hurts.

switch to keyboard

Read up on guitar technique and search for topics on UG regarding permanent injuries caused by having bad technique.

Seriously, your arms shouldn't be hurting, you're doing it wrong.

Give my guitar a full setup. New strings, clean neck/hardware, make sure the floyds still goin strong and all that crap.
