I made this metal-esque song, it's done and recorded, but I want to solo over it. I really don't know what effects to use or if I should use a major/minor scale or a pentatonic scale. Can anyone help me here?

+1, this kind of thing is worthless unless we can hear the backing in question.

Thats what's played during the solo

If I'm right that's a pretty simple 1 - b7 over a pedal tone of the 1 so your options are enourmous, depending on the feel you want you could use:

Minor pentatonic
Natural Minor
Dorian
Phrygian
Locrian
Mixolydian
Phrygian Dominant
Lydian Dominant

In fact basically any scale that has a b7, depending on the feel you want.
