Like the title says, I'm getting 50 bucks. What it DOESNT say is that I'm getting it for a P.O.S. Line 6 spider. It's a lil 15 watt practice amp that I dont use anymore, so my Aunt is gonna buy it for my cousin.

SO, with that in mind, I'm getting 50 bucks.

What's a useful pedal within 50 to possibly 60 dollars? I've been wanting one, but I dont know what would be useful.

My gear,

Washburn X40 Pro
Peavey Valveking 112

Any suggestions?

My things:
Bowes SLx7
Washburn WG587
Washburn X40Pro
Washburn X50
Washburn HM24
Washburn WR150
Laguna LE200s
Arietta Acoustic
First Act
Valveking 112
VHT Deliverance

Oh, and I should mention I'm looking to kind of smooth out my tone, but keep the bite in it if you know what I'm trying to say.

Kind of like John Petrucci's rhythm tone coupled with his lead.

Sorry, but good luck getting EITHER his rhythm tone or lead tone with $50.

I KNOW I cant get his exact tone, I was just trying to give an example.

I love his fluid like tone for his leads, which is what I'm going for distortion wise, I like my own rhythm tone just fine :p

Perhaps a chorus pedal could be had for $50-60 on eBay--that may get you closer to what you want. Delay pedals are great too, but really worthwhile ones are on the expensive side for pedals.

Get a bad monkey, it really tightens up the valvekings distortion. I got some clips on my profile with it if you want to hear it in action. the bad monkey is pretty much a must with a valveking.
