I was just reading the Slash interview on the front page and saw this;

"I’m talking about something a guitar with soapbars in it compared to one with humbuckers"

I thought soap bars WERE humbuckers...

So whats the difference guys?

They do make humbucker soapbars. But the original soapbar P90s look like a bar of soap hence the name. They mount direct with 2 screws thru the body of the pickup directly into the guitar body. Versus the dog ear style with the wings or "dogears" for the screws. There are stacked and humbucker P90s but dont have the tone of single coil 90s just as stacked strat style single coils dont really have the tone of a true single coil.
