Hey guys!

The long awaited new gear day is approaching this year (but this time, its conming from my own bank, not my parents) Lol. Anyway, I am looking for a; I guess, resonable amp, (tube/valve, whavever, just not SS). I play mostly rock and metal (Good gain would be a plus), and some Softer stuff (nice cleans), but I have no idea about amps,

so UG, this is where you come in,

my price range is about £200 - £250

Thank-you very much in advance

Definately go with a Peavey.

I got my XXX combo used for 450 us.

Definately worth it. Brutal amp.
Do you feel warm within your cage?

And have you figured out yet -

whats that in US dollars?

It doesn't alwyas work that way with guitar gear.
Even though pounds are twice as much a lot of gear costs the same amount, in different currencies.

count me as one who hates them
and yes its $400-$500, but things are more expensive in the UK, a peavey VK over there is i believe 300 pounds, which is $600.

They're effin great, but they wont do metal, at all, and 600 is pretty steep for a VK,
A Blackheart & an Overdrive pedal(Tubescreamer, Bad Monkey) might do it, depends on your definition of metal, BH + OD might do Iron Maiden, but not Slayer
