I'm a huge fan of the Daily Show and Jon himself, but honestly... Jon is being pretty stupid. What are your thoughts.
I can honestly say I have really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.

He took her way to literally. He went off about how Sarah was saying that she likes small towns and how there is a lot of patriotism in them. I totally understand what she is saying. I live in a small town and I love it. However, she wasn't implying that big cities are terrible because they are full of communists. She never said anything of the sort.

And neither did he. He was just stating that he's tired of politicians making it out that small town America is the "real" America.

he's just angry at your current government, and doesn't want to see it replaced with a clone of W. and a retarded alaskan "hockey mom"

I think she was. You ever notice at her rallies how everyone boos when she says New York?

I'm from a town of 3000 and I'm totally offended by her assertions that small town people are the only 'real' americans.

John Stewart is right.

Nope, the McCain/Palin campaign have made it pretty clear that the big cities aren't "real America" and that there are no "real Americans" in those cities.

It's pretty insane.

If you watch her speeches she certainly sets the tone that anyone that doesnt agree with their views arent "real" americans. Of course it gets thunderous applause too.

is it sad when comedians are the only ones that can speak the truth without fear of being PC?

Funny enough that the daily show is one of the most unbiased shows there is. They make fun of everyone..

No no. He didn't say eff you to Sarah Palin. He said eff all y'all. True that, homes.

Just watch yesterday's episode. It's perfectly justifiable. Screw political neutrality. He has every right to say what he believes.

I'm just going to go ahead and say one thing.

If the McCain/Palin party is elected, and John McCain dies/is assassinated/raped to death, I shudder to think what will happen if Mrs. Palin has to take the reigns. :|

That's the point of his show though, if you haven't watched it before. He takes everything anyone says, and makes it sound absurd. He does it more discreetly, while Colbert specializes in being completely and unbelievably absurd. They're both quite good and quite funny at what they do though

However, I completely agree with you IMA. I thought his rant on Sarah Palin was kind of retarded and not funny. And wasn't the entire episode about Sarah Palin's "small town" speech? I wouldn't know because I was watching Scrubs on KVOS and only watched Jon during the commercials

that's exactly what she and her xenophobic, mccarthyist fanbase are implying....

zomg, obama's a 'socialist'

small towns are 'real' america

northern virginia is leaning democratic, so they are 'communist country' (an actual quote from mccain's brother)

it's about time someone called them out on their stupidity...

Because it was a serious slap in the face. Palin clearly ostracizes a lot of Americans, and the remarks made by McCain's campaign manager and the congresswoman from Minnesota didn't help. They collectively accused half the country as being unamerican. It's absurd and angering. He has every right to flip them the bird.

...modes and scales are still useless.

As many people have said, you have to look at the way she refers to the states that historically vote democrat.

She meant it just as she said it. By calling one area of the country "Pro America" as apposed to all of it, there's an issue.

A person in her position needs to watch how she words things. If the McCain/Palin campaign hope to get elected they need to realize this VERY quickly.

Well, actually no. You're, um gosh you're um, completely wrong by golly.

Jon Stewart is right though America is the real America. Every American is a real American.

Im just gonna say this, at the momment.
America is failing...HARD.
As in i dont see a bright future in store for any of us for a while. Because people are stupid enough that thy dont wait to do anything until the shit hits the fan and then say things like "we need a miracle now"
How aboure realize 10 months earlier this crap was gonna happen and play the role of god you rish ass politicians.
Im sure they pay many "experts" Out the ass in money to predict certain events and yet they take FOREVER to notify american people and make choices because we have 2 retarded political parties that only argue and do nothing possitive for the situation.
So instead of 1 amazing solution. THEY, not us, vote on which of the 2 shitty plans they devised is better. Which in the end it doesnt solve the problem and needs things added to it anyways to really have any sort of effect.

Exactly what Ive been thinking. Im waiting for them to suggest a council of some sort to weed out those anti americans amongst us. And of course no one will make the connection to mccarthysim.

of course that wont actually happen, but I can see there being support for it.

When the rest of the world hears about american "liberals" they laugh. The whole country is right wing in relation to the rest of the world.
