Ok so yeah, its another 'help me find an amp' thread.

1. Needs to be $750 or less,
2. 2x12 combo, preferably tube
3. able to cover classic rock, blues, and maybe indie rock
4. needs to be gig-worthy,

thanks in advance

Only shops near me are GC and a local shop that has all solid state amps. I would go to GC but its all line six, marshall, fender, stuff that I'm not that big on

Basically, although I feel like he could get something better considering he has more money. You could get a used Laney VC30 (or if you don't like used, Laney VC15), or a Traynor YCV40.

http://raleigh.craigslist.org/msg/885635331.html Delta Blues 1x15, $295 with upgraded speaker.
http://raleigh.craigslist.org/msg/881798127.html Ibanez TS808 od pedal, $100.
http://raleigh.craigslist.org/msg/871986351.html PV Classic 50, $400. Another good amp - if you want more speakers than the Delta Blues, here you go. No tremolo though but otherwise it's a 50 watt version of the DB with more speakers.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

Again, I think it's a waste of money considering there are better amps. Besides, not much point in the extension cab.

$400 better? I like the Traynor YCV's for what he plays as well, I just didn't see any used by him. The delta blues for $295 is perfect for what he plays, and is less than half his budget. I never suggested an extension cab.

Oh sorry, I didn't look and thought you were suggesting a Classic 50 AND a Delta Blues, so I assumed you were talking about an extension cab when you said 1x15.

He could get a YCV20 if necessary, or get the Laney.

the peavey classic 30/50/delta blues are good choices, with delta blues maybe being best
traynor ycv series are also good choices
one of the fender tube amps around that price would work well
a used vox ac30 if you can find one

all of those would work well, and each has its own sound. listen to clips and try them out to see which sounds best for the sounds in your head.

Traynor YCV50 Blue gets my vote
