I imagine this will serve primarily as an opinion thread, but I would imagine that was what the Pit was created to harbor.

Anyways, what are your opinions of hypocrites? One of my friends called me up today (He follows fascist beliefs, but he's my best friend) and went on a short rant concerning hypocrites, and the way they were frustrating him at his school (he's in medical school right now). Primarily, he was discussing how he is usually tantalized for being fascist, but some of the people who harangue him suddenly start wearing Mussolini shirts, and reading Mein Kamf, and all sorts of other similar actions. When he asked them whether they had changed their political stand point, they rolled their eyes, and shunned him away.

I personally find it (in certain cases) to be almost treasonous, but also it shows cowardice.

So, Pit, what do you think of Atheists that celebrate Easter or Christmas, Bush voters that oppose the war, and women that refuse to make sandwiches for anyone but themselves (Bad taste, I know.)

Jews don't believe Christ was the coming of the messiah, so would'nt that be ironic?

I'm an atheist and I celebrate Easter and Christmas. Not really religiously but my family meets during these holidays.

I hate hypocrites, mainly because I am one.

His political standpoint has nothing to do with his ability as a doctor. Shame on you.

No, his last name is Seward.

I'm an atheist and still sorta celebrate Christmas. I have family/friends over, we make a big dinner, etc..

Though I do refuse to receive/give gifts.

Keeping a Christmas tree is OK though, considering it's a Pagan belief.

Christmas has strayed so far from the point that Jesus was born, that even CHRISTIANS are forgetting the true meaning imo. As for Bush voters against the war, you dont have to agree with everything he says and does. I support Bush and the war, but Im not in favor of all that he does. And women making sandwiches for themselves? well, Ive never heard of that before. One thing I cant stand is when people say " Support the troops. Bring em home." they went over to serve their country. if you say "bring them home", then youre not supporting them.

I celebrate those holidays because that's really the only time my family all gets together in one spot.

I don't think that if you like(d) bush you have to support the war, that's fairly ignorant to assume that IMO.

What? Do all women sign an oath at birth saying they'll make sandwiches for their husbands or something?

I don't think reading mein kamf makes you a fascist either. I've read most of it, and my political standing is moderate.

And Aryanwear.com? Wow... That's pretty ****ed up man.

People who want to know more on Hitler and why he did what he did, and what was going on in his head. I can almost 100% guarantee you if you are a history major you either will have to read Mein Kamp in a class or will want to, as it sheds much more light on the subject matter than other books.

Christmas and Easter are both based on pagan celebrations. Easter even stole the name "Easter" from pagans. Furthermore, Christianity itself is almost entirely stolen from pagan religions.

On topic:
Everybody is a hypocrite, it is just as much a part of humanity as killing and racism. Just deal with it.

Just because you read it doesn't mean you instantly believe it. Staying totally ignorant to something won't get you very far, if you learn where the man was coming from then you can draw conclusions.

im not saying he believes it. but i got the impression from TS that these kids he was talking about were promoting its ideals, which i dont like. im not ignorant to the writing, believe me.

and hitler was a NUT. i know what he came from, he was angry, but he took it too far (duh). if only he channeled his emotions into something productive.....like guitar..?

There was no message. It was an autobiography.

Personally, I am not a fascist, and find that Hitler was an insane genius. ("Insane" subject to reader's digression)

However, my friend follows the political regime of fascism, and therefore could be a target of your hate.

Ah ok. I don't like the promoting of fascist ideas either, but I couldn't take their right away to promote them if they were being peaceful about it.

And yes hitler was a nut. He was a genius, but a total nut. If he put his mind into music I honestly think he'd probably be held with Bach and Beetoven. The man was brilliant, but evil.

It's not a belief, it's just a stupid idea for a decoration. Some Bavarian guy said,

I don't care... *hic* I don't care what anybody thinks!

mein kampf combined elements of an autobiography with hitler's explaining and justification of his ideology. he also clearly claims that the world's 'two evils' are communism and judaism. oh and of course hitler was a genius. but like i said, he used his intelligence the wrong way, IMO. and fascism doesnt NECESSARILY need to have racism being a part of it. mussolini, for example, didnt believe in racism. im not against any ideology, im against prejudice. sometimes ideologies and prejudice just come together.
