my guitar lately has sometimes completely lost sound and to get it back i have to switch the the pickup selecter back and forth once. what's my problem?

that happens to me too, on my Epiphone Les Paul Standard. it can't be a short in the cables from my guitar to my amp. it only happens on the bridge pickup, and i have to flick it to the neck pup so the sound will come back. must be something wrong with the wires in my guitar hooked up to the pickup

Hmm, so I'm not the only one.

Ya, I have the same problem, I think. I have a thread about it, so you can read some of the replies. Mostly, though, they said its probably the wiring in the guitar, I think it is.

It usually a dry connection somewhere. You just need to re-solder everything, basically. Takes about twenty minutes and costs next to nothing. There's info about soldering in the guitar customisation forum.
