3 is for strings-through-body Fender basses (3-bolt). 2 is for strings-through-bridge Fender basses (5-bolt).

I was looking at a used Warwick Vampyre LTD 5'er for about $200. I went home to grab my wallet and came back and some jerk with an epic beard got it already..

It should be able to, however, the Fender bass it's attached to must be strings-through-body.

I'm still waiting for a Badass III for five strings...
