Pit! Post your favorite kind of accent, like Canadian, Scottish, NY, etc.

I like British accents. I guess because I'm a bit British. And they say the coolest things.

Stop stereotyping me.

Yeah, but that's English, not British. And I didn't notice you were from here, I thought you were American, and I'm sick of Americans assuming all British people are the same.

To all American people: There are 4 countries in Britain, and lots of variation depending on region or social class. Take note.

It annoys me too, but we probably have a limited understanding of their variations as well. I never understood what there was too like about an English accent anyway.

I always like the New Zealand accent.

Yeah, but I make the assumption that there is variation of American accents from state-to-state, at least, and probably more within those states, although I don't actually know about them.

I mean, I expect them to know Scottish and Irish accents aren't the same, just like I know Texans and New Yorkers don't sound alike.

kk, to help the Americans who think we're all the same : I like every British accent except the brummie one. I just don't like it. No offence to anyone from Birmingham. Also, the geordie one is amazing. The accent I meant is the accent you'll hear around London/Kent/Surrey etc. Its awesome.

Not all of us think you guys all have the same accent, its just hard for us to tell them apart cuz we arent used to hearing them at a daily basis. I bet there are alot of British who think that Americans speak with the same. Thats totally wrong, we got the Brooklyn, Jersey, Boston, Texas, Louisiana (Cajun), SoCal, NorCal, Midwest, Southern, Plains, and tons tons more.

Well the fact that there are 3 different countries in Britain is why we get annoyed because they all obviously have different accents. The fact that you cannot tell the different county accents apart is not annoying but the fact that you keep reffering to a "british" accent is annoying because the 3 different accents are very different.
