Did it successfully portray the plight of the common foot soldier? Or did they concentrate on the love of a man and a woman separated by the chaos of war? If it's the latter, then that's terrible.

It doesn't matter, it's about the Canadian Corps. The toughest outfit in the whole fucking war. I want to see it quite badly. It'll fill me with patriotic chills.

or, to put it another way, is it more like Saving Private Ryan or Pearl Harbour?

Does it feature the Iron Maiden song of the same name at all?

This is need-to-know information, man! Tell us!
#11
Not yet. I guess I'll be going with my Social class to see it.

From the reviews though you'll either like it for the story or hate it because it doesn't portray the struggles the Canadian corps. faced.

At least its based on a true story, unlike *insert American war film here*.

Not a very good rating on Rotten Tomatoes but it did really well according to IMDB.
Hope it makes it worldwide or at least to the U.S.

This, pretty much. I expected Pearl Harbour all Tora! Tora! Tora!, but it was a total lesbian flick. SPR is still fucking awesome though.

It actually pictured a man laying in a foreign field, lonely soldier, unknown grave. And then, on his dying words, he prays, "Tell the world of Paschendale."

That would be wicked awesome.

this times 1000

paschendale is one of my favorite maiden songs...
Begin again in the night, let's sway again tonight.
Your arm on my shoulder, your cheek against mine.
Where can we go, when will we find that, we know.

I wanted to see it.

80% because it shares the name with one of my favourite Maiden songs...hell, one of my favourite songs, period.

I keep hearing its more like Pearl Harbour, and there seems to be alot of romance in the trailers, but i havent seen it.
I dont know if my socials class will go. Im sure my teacher will find an excuse not to.
I'd still like to see it even if it wasnt a Maiden song. It seems like it could be quite a harrowing movie if they cut out all the bullsh*t romance.
