Is an Epi Les Paul Junior--the one pickup set neck model with the P-90, NOT the cheap bolt-on starter guitar--worth picking up if you can get one for cheap ($200 or less)? Or is the guitar/hardware/pickup poorly built and put together, and they're not worth bothering with?
'Cause I have done it before and I will do it some more....

The '57RI ones are ok. They have a mohagany body. Just upgrade the P-90 to a GFS or Gibson and you'll be fine. Just make sure it isn't one of the cheap beginner ones.

^ agreed, the one i tried was pretty decent (the '57 reissue). i think it was going for £149 in my local shop a while back (that's about $300), so if you can get one cheap enough, and try it first to make sure it's ok, i guess you might as well.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
