So I'm buying a new amp and i tried out the half stack version of the Valve junior, it sounded awesome, I looked at a few threads and the blackheart little giant seems pretty good. I play a lot of Tool, Muse, Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins, and some classic rock like Led Zeppelin. Which amp (or some other one) would be better suited to me?

Thanks in advance,

try out the little giant aswell, never read reviews on the internet because it is all to do with preference.

BH is $350............VJ $250 use the other hundy for a EQ pedal and your already ahead of the BH. either amp you buy i would suggest a good reverb. play around with od or dirt pedals to dial in the sound you like. you need to know these are 2 very vanilla amps to keep the costs low. you have to add the carmel, fudge, and brownie to get a sundae. best of luck

^ +1 that extra $100 really hurts the BH. Another $100 towards the Vj really puts it ahead.

iv just played the epi valve jr in a store today nd it is amazing, but iv also heard good things about the black heart, although iv never tried it (yet), so i spose you should try both cus it could just be down to personla preference

Don't the blackhearts get dirtier quicker?
and if your looking for a small amp ts you could get the Killer ant, like a smaller little giant,
and doesn't the BH have a 3/5 watt switch?
idk how much difference it makes, but you'd be able to crank it that much more

Im in australia, where i played the valve jnr the guy would sell me the head, cab and lead for $450

I was just looking here

https://www.billyhydemusic.com.au/shop/index.cfm?action=viewbrand&id=Blackheart

The Blackheart Little Giant is like $850 thats way more expensive than the jnr. Is it really that much better?

I considered the BH too but I really couldn't see the value for almost double the price.

If you buy a VJ (head or combo) make sure you get the version 3 model.

yeah but how does it sound playing metal or tool or something?, all the stuff I've seen it seems to only be able to handle like blues and classic rock?

I would thing the valve jr. would need a gain pedal to get into metal territory, probably possible though!

Whats the selling price for the blackheart? On billyhyde.com the head, and cab was like $850 which seems like a lot more than the epi, if people are comparing the two amps.
