i dont know why you'd buy a new $1500 guitar just to change the pickups.

maybe you should buy a different guitar that sounds the way you want it to or has the hardware you like already installed.

did you try the guitar out first to see if its something you really like?

well, if anything you can sell your original pickups on ebay for $250.

good luck.

this is really all hypothetical i was more or less curious if it would be better to just buy the guitar or change the pickups in my guitar. the thing is i want the vintage styled neck so thats why i was looking into another guitar.

If you are buying a guitar for the sake of upgrading pickups, may i suggest getting an Made In Mexico Stratocaster with some Seymour Duncans or those "Mother's Milk"( What a name, ) pickups. Much cheaper option.

The stock pickups are great, but if you really want the BK and want to get a '62 style strat, get the Classic 60's. It's pretty much the MIM version of the '62.

I have it and it's been great so far, even better than any American Standard or HW1 I've played.
