Both are combo, the 2000 is a TSL I think and the 900 is a 4101 model. Which one do you like better, and why, which is better suited for high gain, which has better cleans...etc.

Thanks

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

800 all the way as far as i'm concerned.

I'll be playing stuff that's Saosin/Underoath/Senses Fail/Secret and Whisper sounding.

Oh and if you guys could post which amp you like better and then WHY you like it better that would be awesome.

Thanks again

I dislike the 2000 at low volumes. I am satisfied with my JCM 900, however my next purchase will be a high-gain amp. I suggest MXR 10-band EQ and overdrive pedal.

I'm definatly gonna get an od to tighten it up and add gain if needed, any suggestions for good OD's?

Digitech Bad Money, Ibanez or Maxon ODs. There's quite a few good choices out there
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

It's too bad your budget probably isn't enough since you'd have to buy a cab, there's a Mesa Single Recto head for sale on HC with a flight case for $700, sweet deal.

Personally, I much prefer the 900, especially over the TSL.

The TSL is much poorer sounding than a DSL, thin, muddy, etc. I hear DSLs sound awesome with some KT-77s in them though, I've been wanting to hear one, but I don't know anyone who owns one.

The 900, I've always been a fan of. It's my favorite Marshall amp, since with the 800, you have to crank it pretty damn loud to get it to sound really good, the 900 you really don't have to.

I've been borrowing a jcm 800 and I use a satchurator to give me some more gain. It sounds great. I'd compare it to a marty friedman tone somewhat

Well, if you're playing Senses Fail style stuff you should probably look at the 900, because when I saw them they were playing 900s

Interesting. It turns out that there are people on the forum who play an upright bass. I'll make a note of that.

*makes note*

*puts note on wall*

*stares at note for a minute*

*sits back down and resumes doing what I was doing*
