Its not as wierd as i say it is but, i just listened to 'The human abstract's' Crossing the Rubicon. Around 2.42 to 2.45 it has a wierd dissonant yet melodic kind of line. its a lot of sweeping but i was wondering how does one get that sound?

If it helps The dilinger escape plan also has that sound too.

I think its a sort of "harmony" where the two notes are just one semitone apart. That generally would make for a dissonant sound

Example

e-------------
b--4-6-8--9--11-12-11-9--8--6-4
g--7-9-11-12-14-15-14-12-11-9-7
d-------------

Have one guitar play the b string, while the other plays the G
