I have a generic brand P-Bass, and it has horrible neck dive. Is there any way to fix this?

nice thick leather strap should help that.
i used to be a mod, then i took an arrow in the knee.

Really? Won't it still slide? Maybe if I weight the strap slightly on the body end, it will help?

Put the strap holder further up the top of the body.

wider strap = more contact with body = more friction = less neck dive (hopefully) :P

and leather catches and holds in place better than something like nylon.

Yeah the value of μ must be greater for leather than that of nylon.

get rid of your neck and craft a new one from the bones of a galapagos tortoise. they're the best for this kinda thing.

get a big thick strap, then duct tape metal weights to counteract the neck dive. look? kinda ghetto. but you know, just get some rips in your jeans and you can pull it off.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

I have a bass that dives, and generally what I do is hold the body down with my right forearm...seems to work well.
Nope, no sig here.
