I just won a floor model 6505 head on ebay for $520 from a store. Pretty psyched.

I don't currently have a cab to run it into though so I'm trying to decide what exactly to get.

I play metal style stuff. Not extremely drop tuned but I would still like good bass handling for future projects (down to drop A possibly.)

Some of the amps I'm looking at are Avatars 4x12 (with V30s and/or G12T75s). Vader 4x12 with Eminence customs. Or the always appreciated Marshall 1960a.

I would like to spend somewhere between 400-700 dollars. NO MORE THAN 700.

What do you guys think I should do?

Nice going

Ive been reccomened Vader cabs by many people, but have never come across one, so if you can get a Vader cab, get that!!
but if you can't, that marshall cab would be just as good for the amp
but then again, an avatar cab with v30's would also be good

haha, sorry that im not much help, but personally i would go for vader

Lol the vader just looks outrageously sexy. But I'd have to order it online so I can't really try it out.

They're high quality and long lasting cabs, so it may be worth a shot

What about the G12T75s? Like the ones found in the Marshal cab. I've seen 6505s paired with 1960a cabs alot.

That's interesting, because the speaker I think the 5150/6505 sounds best with is V30s

I love mids though.

I hated my 5150 with my 1960, I wouldn't recommend G12T-75s with one at all.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

They are good, i just find that the 6505 is pretty harsh and unsmooth even with eminances its just the design of the amp but a maxon and a reverb can help.

Maybe a recto 2x12 and v30s? Should give you good bass response.
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not
