Alright guys so there's an opportunity to play at a UNICEF benefit thing in a couple weeks, so I was wondering if you guys could suggest socially conscious or culturally inspired songs. Think on the lines of Lennon's Imagine. Thanks

Lennon - Working Class Hero (ORIGINAL VERSION!! DAMN YOU GREEN DAY!!!!)

If you're willing to go into more heavier territory, metal is shit full of stuff which relates to the anal rapage of society.

Also lots of 60's pop/folk songs.

...I'm sure I was no help. Cheers.

okay i know that dylan songs are good, but i wanna go for something less cliched, sorta like U2's rendition of everlasting love or something like that.

And of course the cliche socially concious song "Waiting on the world to change" by john mayer

Woooooo
Ha-ha
I respect women
When I take 'em on a date
We go to a park
Or maybe a museum
And I only try to kiss 'em
If they're ready
Whoo-hooo
Say wha? What? A what, I say what? What?
Help out your Mom and Dad
By getting job so you can to help pay
For school supplies
Woo-hooo
Say OOOOH
Wipe your shoes
On the mat
When you come in the house
Someone just, cleaned that floor...

No help whatsoever? Sorry. On a more serious note, perhaps Johnny We Hardly Knew Ye? Or the Dropkick Murphys very slightly different version...

I agree that Working Class Hero by John Lennon is great. And that Waiting on the World to Change is cliche but works. What about "The Kids Aren't Alright" by "The Offspring" Has a faster beat and harder tune than some of the other stuff but good anyways. You could also use "Teenagers" by "My Chemical Romance" even though it is more of an emo song, its lyrics are pretty decent.
BOB MARLEY. Three Little Birds would be an awesome song to use too!

Handlebars by Flobots would work if you could put together an instrumental.
