at my college they have marshall AVT amps, and the distortion is ok, but i want a pedal for metal playing, and also to use when gigging to get metallica style tones, its not so much for use with my amp at home, but it will also be used when i buy a multi track recorder, so gimme some suggestions of good metal distortion pedals

also does anyone have any experience with this http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/77129

Marshall Jackhammer wont give you much more then the AVT from my experiences. I wouldn't hesitate trying out one tho.

I would have to second Ghold's recommendation of the Tonebone Hot British distortion. It gives you a nice Marshally high gain type of tone.

However, James did use a Rat back in the early 80's so that would help you get a Kill 'Em All type of tone if thats what you're after.

yeah kill em all tone is ok, but im talking more sandman tones, and/or death magnetic

Posting and bitching about using the searchbar=taking up thread space about something completely unrelated to the searchbar=just as big of a pain in the anus as someone not using the searchbar

I wouldn't trust reviews in magazines, the companies just pay the mag to put there product in it...
