So I'm going to invest some money in a pickup change for my PRS se custom soon and can't decide on which pickups I should buy. I play rock for the most part (classic rock, hard rock, 70's and 80's metal, etc) and some blues. Sound wise, I like a fat distortion sound, so finding pickups that can beef up my low end is my primary goal. I will probably install ciol tap pots in my guitar soon, so id also like to have some pups that have coil tapping capabilities (and also sound good when coil tapped of course). Finally, I want a neck pickup that doest get very muddy. Yes i know its supposed to but the one on my prs is too muddy imo and i would like something a little less like that

hear are my primary candidates for each (please feel free to give your own suggestions as well)
PRS-either the dragon pup set or the HFS set
Gibson-Classic '57's or Burstbuckers
Seymour Duncan-JB/Jazz pup set
Dimarzio-no clue, but I hear they sound awesome so any suggestions are appreciated

If you could, please suggest some information about the tone of the candidates or suggestions for any pup set that might fit my need. Thanks for the help : )

although it seems like the sd is geared much more towards the metal side of the spectrum. Can it stil get some great classic rock tones too? that's what im mor geared towards right now

the JB is the Jeff Beck humbucker, and the Jazz is self explanatory
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
